When absentee ballots were first introduced there was an official process in which the voter’s reason for applying for the ballot and their identification was verified by one of five officials (a selectman, the town/city clerk, the moderator or a Notary or Justice of the Peace. For years the verification of the identity of the voter has NOT been included.

This is one area where vote dilution can occur and as a qualified voter you have the right to challenge the validity of the absentee ballots cast to verify that the laws are being followed. Therefore the goal and objective is to TRUE THE VOTE.

Any qualified voter in a precinct/polling place can challenge an absentee ballot if there is a question on proper processing.
